Silo: new Apple TV scifi series (trailer).
In a world where dystopian futures are all the rage, Apple TV+ is getting in on the action with their upcoming series Silo, previously known as Wool. Based on the Silo series of novels by Hugh Howey, the show takes place in a society where people live underground in a giant silo, surrounded by toxic air and strict regulations.
The cast is stacked with some big names, including Rebecca Ferguson, who not only stars but also executive produces the series. Tim Robbins, Rashida Jones, David Oyelowo, and Common are just a few of the talented actors who will be bringing this world to life.
But the road to get here wasn’t easy. Originally planned as a feature film, the project was picked up by 20th Century Fox, with Ridley Scott and Steven Zaillian attached to produce. J Blakeson was brought on to write and direct the film, but the project ultimately stalled due to Disney’s acquisition of 21st Century Fox.
But the story of Silo was too compelling to stay buried, and the project found new life as a television series. LaToya Morgan was originally attached to write the adaptation for AMC, but the series eventually moved to Apple TV+ with Graham Yost taking over as creator and writer.
With such a talented cast and creative team, Silo promises to be a thrilling addition to the dystopian genre. Will the citizens of the silo find a way to break free from their subterranean existence and the rules that govern their lives? Only time will tell, but we can’t wait to find out. Stay tuned for the premiere on Apple TV+.
