Transformers: Rise of the Beasts – a roaring return to the Big Screen? (film trailer)

Hold onto your gears, ladies and gentlemen; it’s time for yet another Transformers movie, because clearly, we haven’t had enough of them. Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is an upcoming cinematic masterpiece, where robots continue to fight each other while somehow still keeping us humans invested. This seventh installment in the Transformers film series, a standalone sequel to Bumblebee (2018), is directed by Steven Caple Jr. and stars a whole bunch of famous people who probably never imagined themselves acting alongside CGI robots.

The film follows a pair of archaeologists from Brooklyn who stumble upon an ancient conflict involving not one, not two, but three factions of the Transformers race: the Maximals, the Predacons, and the Terrorcons. The human leads are played by Anthony Ramos and Dominique Fishback, who are supported by an ensemble cast of voice talents, including Ron Perlman, Peter Dinklage, Michelle Yeoh, and Pete Davidson, among others. Here’s hoping they can elevate the film beyond the simple premise of robots punching each other.

The film was shot in various locations, including Los Angeles, Peru, Montreal, and New York City. We can only assume that these places offered the perfect backdrops for giant robots to engage in epic battles without causing too much collateral damage.

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is set to be released in the United States on June 9th 2023. So, mark your calendars, or don’t, because there’s still plenty of time to decide whether you’re up for another round of robot brawls. And if for some reason you’re still craving more Transformers content, fear not, as Paramount announced that this film is just the first of three new installments in the series. Buckle up, baby, and brace yourselves for the never-ending parade of shape-shifting robots.
