The Mandalorian: creating the Razor Crest starship (documentary video).

In this 17-minute-long video the folks at Industrial Light and Magic go behind the scenes to explore how they created that sweet, sweet ride of The Mandalorian.

If you have an interest in CGI and special effects, or, indeed, very cool starships then this is the documentary video for you!

Here is the official blurb:

We’ll pull back the curtain on one of our favorite bounty hunter’s ship, the infamous Razor Crest and look at the distinctive former military ship from its initial concept design in Doug Chiang’s Lucasfilm art department through to ILM artists building the ship in the digital realm and as a practical miniature for filming. We’ll also look at the parallel development of the custom motion control camera system created by ILM Visual Effects Supervisor, John Knoll to allow for the first motion control shots to film at ILM in 15 years.

I wonder how long it will be until they commission a Mandalorian computer game featuring a bit of real starship versus starship action, as well as a chance for the helmeted one to shoot up some storm troopers?
