Synchronic : a film mini-review by Evelyn C. Leeper

Netflix has been running a lot of ‘new’ Science Fiction films. (Well, new to me, anyway.) ‘The Door Into Summer’, ‘The Colony’, ‘The House’, ‘Free Guy’ and now ‘Synchronic’.

‘Synchronic’ assumes a drug that has strange effects, not just hallucinations, but actual changes to reality and in specific time perceptions. It’s a clever idea and watching the characters figure out the rules is interesting, but there is too much else dragging down the film to make it recommendable.

Released 10/22/20; available on Netflix streaming.
