In SF disaster anime movie Japan Sinks, an ordinary family is put to the test as a series of massive earthquakes throw Japan into total mayhem, until Japan, well, sinks.
From director Masaaki Yuasa (Devilman Crybaby), this is the anime adaptation of the science fiction novel of the same name by Sakyo Komatsu.

There already was live-action film in 1973, called “Tidal Wave” (or (“Japan Sinks”). Look it up in Wikipedia or elsewhere — I couldn’t post a link, since your system considered that to be spam… 🙁
