Get ready to embark on an interstellar joyride that will leave you starry-eyed and full of wonder? Crater, the new coming-of-age sci-fi adventure, directed by Kyle Patrick Alvarez and penned by John Griffin, is set to launch on Disney+ on May 12, 2023. The film promises to be a blast, as it takes viewers on a gravity-defying journey of friendship, discovery, and heart.

Meet Caleb Channing (Isaiah Russell-Bailey), a young lunar mining colony dweller who, after the passing of his father (Scott Mescudi), is about to say farewell to his celestial home forever. But before he’s permanently relocated to another planet, Caleb embarks on one last lunar escapade with his three best friends: Addison (Mckenna Grace), Dylan (Billy Barratt), and Borney (Orson Hong), and a newcomer from Earth, Marcus (Thomas Boyce).

This merry band of moon-hoppers explores a mysterious crater, and you can bet your asteroid they’ll encounter more than just moon dust and lunar rocks! As their bonds are tested and strengthened, these young space adventurers will experience an out-of-this-world adventure that’s sure to leave a crater-sized impact on their lives.

“Crater” began as a spec script by John Griffin that landed on the 2015 Black List, an annual compilation of the best unproduced screenplays of the year. Griffin’s celestial story caught the eye of 20th Century Fox, who purchased the script in 2017. Despite the project being momentarily halted due to the acquisition of 21st Century Fox by Disney, the film has since blasted off to new heights with its stellar cast and talented crew.

Originally slated for a theatrical release, Crater will now make its exclusive streaming premiere on Disney+, making it the perfect family movie night pick. So grab your popcorn, don your space helmets, and get ready to moonwalk into a cosmic tale of friendship, adventure, and coming-of-age that will leave you over the moon!

Mark your calendars, Earthlings: Crater lands on Disney+ on May 12th, 2023. This lunar-tastic adventure is one small step for streaming, and one giant leap for movie lovers everywhere!
