Black Summer (Netflix zombie TV series).

Set in the early days of a zombie apocalypse, Black Summer is a new 8-episode zombie horror streaming TV series which stars Jaime King as Rose, a mother sadly ripped apart from her daughter, who then embarks upon a harrowing journey to rescue her.

Thrust alongside a small group of U.S. refugees, these strangers must find the strength they need to fight their way back to loved ones.

But in order for Rose and her team to brave this hostile new world, they will need to make brutal decisions to contend with zombies – and each other.

Season 1 is out April 11th 2019 on Netflix, and was created by Karl Schaefer and John Hyams as a prequel to Z Nation.

At the last San Diego Comic-Con, Schaefer said, “Black Summer is before the apocalypse got weird and was just scary.”

The Black Summer trailer certainly doesn’t have much of the oddness and dark humour that characterises Z Nation.
