Big Trouble In Little China: a fantasy film retrospective with added sass (video).

Time for a fantasy film retrospective with added sass supplied by the Critical Drinker, this time examining Big Trouble in Little China, the 1986 fantasy martial arts action-comedy movie from John Carpenter, starring Kurt Russell, Kim Cattrall, Dennis Dun, and James Hong.

The film tells the shocking story of Jack Burton, who helps his chum Wang Chi rescue his fiancée from bandits in San Francisco’s Chinatown.

The motley gang must venture into the strange labyrinth beneath Chinatown, to defeat an immortal sorcerer, David Lo Pan, who needs a woman with green eyes to marry him to release him from a centuries-old curse.

  • Still one of my favorite movies, a mixture of grand fantasy & humor!
