Roll for Initiative: Three Black Halflings to cast their spell at Worldcon (event news).

In a twist to the upcoming Glasgow 2024 World Science Fiction Convention, the renowned trio from the Three Black Halflings podcast has been announced as special guests. Olivia “Liv” Kennedy, Jeremy Cobb, and Jasper William Cartwright, known for their unique take on tabletop role-playing games (TTRPG), are gearing up to bring their spirited discussions to the much-anticipated event.

Fans of the podcast, which delves into diversity in TTRPGs with a mix of humor and candid opinions, are in for a treat. The trio’s weekly episodes, celebrated for placing the Black and BIPOC experience at the forefront, have garnered a dedicated following. Their appearance at Glasgow 2024 promises to be a blend of entertaining banter and insightful dialogue.

The 3BH team, amidst preparing for their first live shows in Manchester and London, expressed their excitement about the convention. “We’re looking forward to playing a game run by Tanya DePass and diving into the crossover between TTRPGs and the Sci-Fi Fantasy community. It’s exciting to think about sharing thoughts with authors and creators who have inspired us,” they shared.

Glasgow 2024 Chair Esther MacCallum-Stewart, acknowledging the trio’s contribution to the gaming world, said, “Having 3BH at Worldcon is a nod to the evolving landscape of gaming culture. They embody what we envision for this year’s theme – being Imaginative, Caring, and Inclusive.”

MacCallum-Stewart also took a moment to congratulate Jasper on his recent family addition, adding a personal touch to the announcement.

Set to take place from 8th-12th August 2024, Glasgow 2024 is gearing up to be an interesting con, celebrating the Nest’s own favoured blend of science fiction, fantasy, and gaming cultures.
