Solar Opposites: animated scifi series, season 4 trailer.

Arriving on August 14th, 2023 via Hulu, here come’s the fourth season of animated scifi malarky, in Solar Opposites. You fools haven’t seen it, yet? Are you ready to embark on a wacky intergalactic adventure filled with aliens, miniature humans, and questionable decision-making? Look no further than this odd adult animated sitcom that has captured the hearts of viewers since its debut on Hulu in 2020. Created by Justin Roiland and Mike McMahan, this show is a sci-fi rollercoaster ride that might leave you laughing and scratching your head in equal measure.

A family of aliens crash-land on Earth and find themselves stuck on our bizarre little planet. There’s Terry, the alien who fully embraces Earth and its quirky human ways, much to the chagrin of his grumpy and intelligent counterpart, Korvo. Jesse, Terry’s replicant, wants nothing more than to fit into human society, while Yumyulack, another replicant, enjoys shrinking mean adults and trapping them in a tiny terrarium called “the Wall.” Yep, things get pretty weird.

Solar Opposites doesn’t stop at just one storyline. Oh no, it’s got parallel narratives that will keep you on your toes. The Wall is home to a society of shrunken humans, creating a hilarious and satirical microcosm of our own world. These tiny folks navigate their way through life while dealing with corrupt rulers, limited resources, and the occasional power struggle. It’s like a reality TV show, but with more insect-sized drama.

And let’s not forget the SilverCops. These intergalactic police officers are the definition of “bad cop” and make it their mission to ruin the day for any Shlorpian alien trying to escape the destruction of their home planet. They’re like the Keystone Cops, except they’re from space and have a knack for brutality. It’s all very tongue-in-cheek and reminds us that even in the far reaches of the universe, corruption and abuse of power still exist. Go figure.

What sets Solar Opposites apart is its cast of quirky characters. From the grumpy yet lovable Korvo to the perpetually fascinated Terry, each member of the alien family brings their own unique flavor to the mix. Yumyulack, the self-proclaimed scientist and bounty hunter, will have you both amused and slightly disturbed by his penchant for miniaturizing mean-spirited adults. And then there’s Jesse, the kind-hearted replicant who just wants to find his place in this strange new world. It’s a dysfunctional family dynamic that’s out of this world.
