Apparently, the colourful 1980s science fiction film, Flash Gordon, is the Queen’s favourite film.
Of course it is, we hear you cry, Queen even made the soundtrack from the flick, so why wouldn’t it be?
No, not that Queen. The real Queen. As in, Her Maj., Queen Elizabeth.
The Queen’s regular viewing choice at Christmas came to light in an interview Brian Blessed was doing with a film magazine.
“It’s her favourite film, she watches it with her grandchildren every Christmas,” explained Brian, before admitting that everywhere he goes he’s asked to exclaim, “Gordon’s Alive?!” in his trademark booming voice.
Rumour has it, that the Queen even demanded Brian say it before she bestowed an MBE on the actor at Buckingham Palace. Well, he is only a prince (Prince Vultan), so even he has to go along with Liz the Merciless, if he knows what is good for him.
