Batman: Mask of the Phantasm, an animated superhero retrospective (video).

Andre is here to bring us a retrospective of the animated superhero film, Batman: Mask of the Phantasm was released in 1993 and stars the DC Comics character Batman.

It is the first original theatrical picture created by Warner Bros. Animation, the first film in the DC Animated Universe, and the only one released theatrically. It is directed by Eric Radomski and Bruce Timm and is based on Batman: The Animated Series.

While visiting his parents’ graves, a young Bruce Wayne encounters Andrea Beaumont, and the two develop a strong mutual connection. Bruce foils a heist that night in one of his first attempts at crime-fighting, but is disappointed since the perpetrators do not fear him.

Andrea accepts Bruce’s marriage proposal. Andrea, on the other hand, unexpectedly departs Gotham with her father, businessman Carl Beaumont, and writes a Dear John letter to cancel their engagement. Over the course of ten years, Bruce transforms into Batman, despite his heartbreak.
