HBO and the team that brought you The Wire have got together to create a science fiction TV series based on the excellent 2004 The Plot Against America novel by Philip Roth.
It features an alternative history where Franklin D. Roosevelt is defeated in the Presidential election of 1940 by Charles Lindbergh on a pacifist anti-war ticket claiming Jews in the USA are trying to drag the country into war against the Nazis.
The novel follows the fortunes of the Roth family during the Lindbergh reign, as antisemitism becomes accepted in American life and Jewish-American families are persecuted.
Chilling. Very chilling.
