Raised by Wolves is another new science fiction TV series created from Ridley Scott first streaming on HBO Max on September 3rd 2020.

This one is set after a war has ruined Earth, and a bunch of frozen embryos are sent on a slow-ship ark to a marginally habitable colony world to ensure humanity continues. Raised by a pair of androids called Mother and Father, the human children prove a difficult bunch and the mysterious planet throws up various dangers, as does the truth behind the war and the legacy of Old Earth which comes back to bite them all on the arse.

Humans raised by robots is a riff on The Jungle Book – heck in Stephen Hunt’s ‘Six Against the Stars‘ everyone on Earth is raised by robot halls as the decent thing to do.

Reminds us a lot of Aliens, here, in the trailer’s look and feel, not to mention the ambiguity of the morality of the androids (David from Prometheus, anyone?).
