Radiant Is the Blood of the Baboon Heart: the Venture Bros.’ animated buffet of movie madness (trailer).

Just when we thought it couldn’t get any weirder, the majestic animated scifi movie lunacy of The Venture Bros. is gearing up for its swan song with the release of Radiant Is the Blood of the Baboon Heart. The title alone is poised to give even the quirkiest indie bands a run for their money.

Jackson Publick and Doc Hammer have concocted a feature film equivalent of a supernova born from pixie dust, madness, and old library books about zoology. Prepare to be mystified by a nationwide manhunt, characters with names that seem like they were derived from an 80’s action figure collection, and an ancient evil so imposing it probably doesn’t fit into most conventional parking spaces.

The ever-ambivalent Hank Venture is on the lam, and America’s search for him unearths secrets so unexpected that you’d think they were hidden inside a matryoshka doll wearing a fake moustache. Meanwhile, The Monarch’s vendetta against Dr. Venture seems to have escalated to a literal blood feud. No, really, he wants the man’s blood – it’s as if Dracula and a butterfly had a management seminar lovechild.

The illustrious voice cast includes James Urbaniak, who returns as Dr. Thaddeus “Rusty” Venture, a man whose doctoral degree seems to have come from a Cracker Jack box. Then we have the thundering voice of Patrick Warburton as Brock Samson, a human wall of muscle and poor choices. And let’s not forget about Chris McCulloch, who juggles voicing Hank Venture, The Monarch, Sgt. Hatred, and several other characters, presumably while balancing on a unicycle on a tightrope.

The audience is promised an imposing evil from the past that can wreak havoc on the Ventures, The Guild, and even on marital bliss. That’s right, friends. It’s not just a sci-fi action-adventure; it’s also a universal reminder to schedule those couples’ counseling sessions.

The film’s plot seems to contain enough twists and turns to make a pretzel look straight. The combined forces of friends and foes will be required to set the world straight again or end it in a burst of absurdity. This is the narrative equivalent of stuffing an elephant into a clown car – puzzling, hilarious, and you’re not sure how it’s happening, but you can’t look away.

After the cancellation of the series back in 2020, The Venture Bros. seemed doomed to remain as unfinished as the world’s most ambitious Lego castle. However, thanks to the cinematic necromancy of Adult Swim and Warner Bros., fans are now able to bid farewell to this beloved series in true, bizarre Venture Bros. style.

With a title like “Radiant Is the Blood of the Baboon Heart,” you can bet your baboon hearts that you are in for an animated rollercoaster ride through a confetti storm of eccentricity. Strap on your jetpacks and renew your vows with absurdity, as the film hits the digital shelves on July 21st 2023, and Blu-ray on July 25th, 2023.
