Lexx: the most bonkers science fiction TV show… live, ever? (video).
In this science fiction television retrospective, the ever-reliable Rowan J Coleman asks that most necessary of questions, was Lexx the most bonkers, insane, weird, and just flat out bizarre sci-fi TV extravaganza of all time. Possibly, including the far reaches of the future, as well.
It has to be said that if you ever watched Lexx, you probably don’t need to watch this video to know the answer to that question.
This came out in the states on the original Syfy channel, and was a Canadian and German co-production, with some additional funding from Britain’s Channel 5. This strange heritage probably goes some way to explain the more outlandish nature of the adventures of those on board the starship Lexx.
You know the gang, the captain of the Lexx, Stanley H. Tweedle; the love slave Zev/Xev Bellringer; the undead former assassin Kai, last of the Brunnen-G; and the love-crazed robot head 790.
It’s a bit like a Heavy Metal comic strip on acid. Not that you normally need drugs to read Heavy Metal, but sometimes it helps.
