But there is one question that has long been nagging fans of this evergreen science fiction universe – and that is, where are the flipping sentient aliens? After all, there are over 13,000 settled planets, all colonised by humanity, with many non-sentient life forms such as the fabled worms which give out all that lovely spice.
But are there creatures in the universe who stand as our equal?
