Do you live inside a rhythm universe… a universe that continually comes and goes? (science video)

Some interesting stuff on such deep scientific topics as the Ashtekar quantum bounce, investigating the cause of gravity, fermionic matter, and loop quantum gravity.

There is a theory that suggests that our universe operates on a cycle of creation and destruction, continually repeating itself over time. This idea, known as the “rhythm universe” theory, posits that the universe goes through phases of expansion and contraction, similar to the beating of a drum or the inhaling and exhaling of breath.

Proponents of the rhythm universe theory argue that this cycle of expansion and contraction can explain the observed patterns in the universe, such as the cosmic microwave background radiation and the large-scale structure of the universe. They also point to the fact that many natural systems, such as the seasons and tidal patterns, operate in cycles as evidence that the universe as a whole may also follow a cyclical pattern.

However, there is currently no scientific evidence to support the idea of a rhythm universe. The dominant theory of the origins and evolution of the universe, known as the Big Bang theory, posits that the universe began as a singularity and has been expanding ever since. A vast amount of observational evidence has supported this theory, including the redshift of distant galaxies and the cosmic microwave background radiation.

The concept of a rhythm universe raises some theoretical issues. If the universe were oscillating between phases of expansion and contraction, it is unclear what would trigger these transitions or what the ultimate fate of the universe would be. Would the universe eventually reach a state of equilibrium, or would it continue to oscillate indefinitely? These questions remain unanswered and would need to be addressed in order for the rhythm universe theory to be considered a viable explanation of the origins and evolution of the universe.
