Adapted from Philip K. Dick’s 1966 short story “We Can Remember It for You Wholesale,” Total Recall follows the exploits of Douglas Quaid (Schwarzenegger), a construction worker who acquires an implanted memory of a fantastical experience on Mars.
The next thing he knows, he’s in the middle of an actual adventure, with operatives from a mysterious group trying to block him from recalling his days as a Martian secret agent working to bring down the dictatorship of Vilos Cohaagen (Cox).
