Thanksgiving: a feast of frights (horror movie: trailer).

Gobble, gobble! Just when you thought it was safe to carve the turkey, Eli Roth brings us “Thanksgiving“, a new slasher film that promises to serve up a hearty helping of horror with a side of humor. And let’s be honest, who hasn’t felt like Thanksgiving can be a bit of a horror show at times? Especially when Aunt Karen insists on discussing politics.

First off, let’s talk about the premise. A mysterious serial killer named “John Carver” (because, of course, it’s a carving holiday) decides to turn the quaint town of Plymouth, Massachusetts into his personal Thanksgiving buffet. And no, he’s not after the cranberry sauce.

Leading the cast is the dashing Patrick Dempsey, who plays the town sheriff. One can only hope he’s as good with a carving knife as he is with a scalpel. Joining him is the TikTok sensation turned actress, Addison Rae. With Milo Manheim, Jalen Thomas Brooks, and Nell Verlaque also in the mix, this film is stuffed with talent like a Thanksgiving turkey.

But wait, there’s more! The supporting cast features the likes of Rick Hoffman, Gina Gershon, and Tim Dillon. With such a diverse ensemble, we’re expecting a smorgasbord of performances that range from chilling to hilariously over-the-top.

The journey from trailer to feature film has been a long one. Roth’s mock trailer for “Thanksgiving” first tantalized audiences in 2007 as part of the “Grindhouse” double feature. Since then, fans have been salivating for a full-length serving. And after a few false starts and script rewrites, Roth is finally delivering the goods.

Filming took place in the picturesque settings of Toronto and Hamilton, Ontario. While not quite Plymouth, we’re sure the Canadian backdrop will provide the perfect setting for this tale of terror.

So, mark your calendars for November 17, 2023. Before you sit down for your traditional Thanksgiving feast, get a taste of Eli Roth’s “Thanksgiving”. It promises to be a dish best served… bloody! And remember, always pass the gravy, you never know who’s sitting next to you at the dinner table.
