Rail-guns: the future of warfare gets magnetic (science video).

You might previously have only encountered railguns in science fiction novels such as Stephen Hunt’s Hellfleet, or the Expanse TV series where starships are regularly shooting the heck out of each other with magnetically accelerated tungsten rods.

But, the US military was never one to allow such tropes to rest on their bed as pure fiction.

In this 14-minute long science video, Simon investigates the history, present, and shortly arriving future of the rail cannon. It ain’t science fiction anymore, kids.
