In addition to his work on Conan the Barbarian for Marvel Comics from 1970 to 1973, British comic book painter Barry Windsor-Smith is most known for his work on the character Wolverine, notably the 1991 “Weapon X” story arc. Following his departure from Marvel, Windsor-Smith was appointed creative director and principal artist at Valiant Comics, where he also developed the original characters Archer and Armstrong and drew the company’s reimagining of the 1960s Gold Key Comics character Solar.
