The Collector is a short science fiction movie by Ihsanul Huq. American-Bengali filmmaker Ihsanul Huq lives and works in Los Angeles. Although he spent his formative years in Nebraska, he now considers Austin, Texas to be his permanent residence.
Having found a battered Android by the name of MIA on the beach, Hal brings her back to his desert house in order to rebuild her. Hal’s wife is comatose from an incurable sickness, and he wants to make MIA into a home and health aide for her, but he can only charge MIA using batteries he must go out of the house to get.
When MIA regains consciousness, she demands to be charged to maximum capacity on home power so that she may escape the deadly individuals who are hunting her, forcing Hal to make a decision that might mean the difference between life and death.
