Jonathan Creek: The Clue Of The Savant’s Thumb.
In the first of the new Jonathan Creek TV detective series, The Clue Of The Savant’s Thumb, Creek and friend, investigator Joey Ross, are drawn into a complex case involving a secret society, seemingly supernatural events at a girls’ boarding school, and the miraculous disappearance of a body in front of three witnesses.
Alan Davies returns in the title role, assisted once again by Sheridan Smith (Quartet, Accused, Gavin & Stacey) as fellow investigator Joey Ross. Also returning is Rik Mayall (Bottom, The New Statesman, Blackadder and The Young Ones) in his role as DI Gideon Pryke. The guest cast list for the episode will include: Sarah Alexander (Me And Mrs Jones, The Worst Week, The Jury, Green Wing), Joanna Lumley (The Wolf Of Wall Street, Absolutely Fabulous), Nigel Planer (I Give It A Year, The List, The Hunt For Tony Blair, plus new West End musical Charlie & The Chocolate Factory) and Hasina Haque (Casualty, I Give It A Year).
Written and directed by the show’s creator David Renwick, filming is currently underway in Sussex, Surrey, Hampshire & Hertfordshire.
