Detective Inspector Harry Absalom is old, dying and extremely rude. He works for a secret police unit that enforces an ancient pact between the British establishment and the powers of Hell, which makes the job slightly more complicated than the average beat.
It's folk horror, police procedural and state-of-the-nation satire rolled into one, with a London that feels properly haunted. Absalom began as a supporting character in Rennie's earlier strip Caballistics, Inc., and stole it.
