Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead (new Netflix horror film: trailer).

In a world filled with workaholics, stress, and unending cups of terrible office coffee, one man decides that a zombie apocalypse might just be the perfect change of pace. Enter Netflix’s latest live-action adaptation, Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead, based on the popular manga series. Akira Tendo, portrayed by the dashing Eiji Akaso, is about to show us all how to really live when the undead take over the streets.

Step 1: Quit Your Job (Or Have It Obliterated By Zombies)

Let’s face it, Akira’s job was a soul-sucking nightmare that would make anyone consider a brisk jog into a horde of the undead. When his town turns into a zombie buffet, he is granted the ultimate sick day.

Step 2: Create a Bucket List… For the Undead

What’s the point of surviving a zombie apocalypse if you can’t have a little fun? Akira’s bucket list is anything but ordinary. With entries like “Pilot a jet while wearing a tutu” and “Become the zombie break-dancing champion,” it’s clear that Akira has embraced the chaos with open arms.

Step 3: Recruit a Sidekick

It’s a classic buddy cop formula, but with more blood and dismembered limbs. Kencho, played by the phenomenal Shuntarō Yanagi, becomes the perfect partner in anti-zombie crime. They laugh, they cry, they probably make s’mores while using flaming zombies as a campfire.

Step 4: Go Restaurant Hopping (No Need to Pay)

One of Akira’s not-so-moral bucket list entries might involve dining and dashing – or just dining since there isn’t anybody to pay. With the help of his new friend Shizuka, played by Mai Shiraishi, they discover that eating gourmet meals is a lot more enjoyable when you’re not worried about the check.

Step 5: Make Friends With Other Eccentric Survivors

Every good apocalyptic journey needs a diverse group of misfits. Enter Beatrix, an axe-wielding librarian who just might have a soft spot for zombies, and Gonzō, a mysterious figure who claims to have once wrestled a zombie kangaroo.

Step 6: Discover the True Meaning of Life (and Undeath)

At its cold, undead heart, Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead is a story about finding what makes you happy in a world gone mad. Akira and his band of merry survivors might be surrounded by zombies, but their spirits refuse to decay.

This show is more than just a comedy; it’s a whimsical mirror held up to society. It’s about reevaluating what matters in life when confronted with its impermanence, and maybe cracking a few zombie jokes along the way.

So, grab your popcorn, your cricket bat, and keep your brain securely fastened. “Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead” is the motivational, zombie-filled thrill ride you didn’t know you needed. And remember – if your life feels like an episode of The Walking Dead, maybe it’s time to take a leaf out of Akira’s book and create your own bucket list.

Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead” starts streaming worldwide on Thursday, August 3rd, 2023, on Netflix.
