TwoMorrows Publishing faces financial struggles following Diamond collapse (news).

TwoMorrows Publishing, the company behind a range of magazines and books dedicated to comics history, pop culture, and LEGO fandom, is facing significant financial strain following Diamond Comic Distributors’ recent bankruptcy filing.

The collapse of Diamond has left TwoMorrows unpaid for its December and January publications, resulting in major financial losses. Despite this, the publisher is determined to keep operating and is urging fans and supporters to help through direct orders and subscriptions.

TwoMorrows is now relying heavily on webstore sales to stay afloat until payments from new distribution channels begin in the coming months. The publisher has introduced new lower international shipping rates to encourage orders, alongside discounts on various items:

  • American Comic Book Chronicles full 8-volume hardcover sets are available at 30% off.
  • Older issues of TwoMorrows’ magazines are being offered in bulk bundles at 50% off.

In addition to product sales, TwoMorrows is urging international customers to subscribe or renew their magazine subscriptions. Titles such as Alter Ego, Back Issue, BrickJournal, Comic Book Creator, Cryptology, Jack Kirby Collector, and RetroFan are all available at reduced subscription rates.

TwoMorrows is also asking readers to encourage their local comic shops to switch their orders from Diamond to Lunar Distribution, which will now be handling their titles. Diamond UK, in particular, has implemented discount levels that TwoMorrows cannot meet, although the publisher hopes to resume trading with Diamond UK if Universal Distribution’s purchase of the company leads to fairer terms.

For those preferring to purchase TwoMorrows’ books through bookstores, new partnerships with SCB Distributors and Turnaround Distribution will ensure availability in Canada and the UK respectively. Books will also continue to be available on Amazon.ca and Amazon.co.uk.

Publisher John Morrow expressed his gratitude to supporters and emphasised that with help from loyal readers, TwoMorrows Publishing aims to weather the current financial storm and emerge stronger than before.
