Nicholas Hoult and Nicolas Cage team up for the vampire horror comedy, Renfield (trailer).

Are you ready for a horror comedy that’s sure to have you rolling in the aisles with laughter? Look no further than Renfield, the upcoming film directed by Chris McKay and starring Nicholas Hoult and Nicolas Cage.

In this modern retelling of the classic Dracula story, Hoult plays Renfield, the long-suffering servant of Cage’s Dracula. Forced to do his every bidding, Renfield is finally ready to see if there’s life outside the shadow of the Prince of Darkness. But will he be able to break free from his codependency and find happiness with feisty traffic cop Rebecca Quincy, played by Awkwafina?

This star-studded cast also includes Ben Schwartz as Teddy Lobo, a mobster; Adrian Martinez as Chris Marcos, a traffic cop; Shohreh Aghdashloo as Ella, a mob boss; and Bess Rous as Caitlyn, a support group member. And let’s not forget about the legendary Nicolas Cage, who brings his unique brand of over-the-top acting to the role of Count Dracula.

Renfield is based on an original idea by Robert Kirkman, the creator of The Walking Dead and Invincible, and the screenplay was written by Ryan Ridley, known for his work on the Ghosted and Rick & Morty series.

While we can’t wait to see Renfield when it hits theaters on April 14th, 2023, we can’t help but wonder what other classic monster tales might get the modern horror comedy treatment. Could we see a Frankenstein’s Monster buddy comedy or a Mummy rom-com in the future? Only time will tell, but one thing’s for sure: Renfield is sure to be a monster hit.
