Dune 2 movie: new trailer, and it’s lovely (video).

Let’s be honest. When the phrase “Dune: Part Two” is whispered into the winds, the sands shift, and the audience can almost hear the Spice Worms slithering in excitement. I mean, come on – we’re talking about Denis Villeneuve, the human embodiment of cinematic magic, directing this colossal sandcastle. He did such a stellar job with “Dune: Part One,” that we wouldn’t mind if the sequel was just two hours of Timothee Chalamet drinking space tea.

But behold! The ensemble cast is what makes this film look like the Oscars got sucked into a sandstorm and landed in Arrakis. Timothee Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, and Josh Brolin return, ready to sandboard down the dunes like they’re on an episode of interstellar Baywatch.

Enter Austin Butler, Florence Pugh, and, wait for it, Christopher Walken. If anyone can upstage a gargantuan sandworm, it’s the voice of Christopher Walken. I’m already dreaming of a monologue where he schools Paul Atreides on the finer points of desert etiquette with that legendary cadence.

Speaking of legendary, the great Javier Bardem is back. Bardem’s the kind of actor who could play a space rock and you’d be on the edge of your seat wondering if it’s going to win a Best Supporting Actor award.

The tale continues with Paul Atreides waging a warpath of revenge, battling the choice between love and saving the universe. With so many stars, one has to wonder if the known universe in question is actually Hollywood. Maybe it’s all a metaphor?

Villeneuve’s collaboration with the masters of the arts is a sight to behold. Oscar-winning director of photography Greig Fraser could probably make a scene of sand sifting through someone’s fingers look like an epic struggle between good and evil. Hans Zimmer is scoring the film, which means your eardrums will be thanking you for the interstellar journey they are about to embark on.

And let’s talk about location, baby. Budapest, Abu Dhabi, Jordan, and Italy. If “Dune: Part Two” were a person, it’d be that friend who’s constantly traveling and has an Instagram feed that makes you question your life choices.

In conclusion, mark your calendars. November 3rd is when the sand hits the fan. “Dune: Part Two” is not just a movie; it’s an event. It’s like the Met Gala of cinema, but with sandworms and possibly Christopher Walken as the galaxy’s most charismatic worm-rider.

Bring your goggles, folks. The spice is about to get in your eyes.
