Why the James Webb Space Telescope will change everything (science video).
In this hour long science video, John Michael Godier speaks to Klaus Pontoppidan about the James Webb Space Telescope, and just how it will change everything when it is observing our galaxy and the universe.
The James Webb Space Telescope will be an orbiting infrared observatory that will extend the discoveries of the Hubble Space Telescope, with longer wavelength coverage and greatly improved sensitivity. The longer wavelengths enable Webb to look much closer to the beginning of time and to hunt for the unobserved formation of the first galaxies, as well as to look inside dust clouds where stars and planetary systems are forming today.
After completion of its final tests, NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope is now being prepped for shipment to its launch site and date with destiny – maybe a September/October 2021 blast-off?
