Tomb Raider and Skull Island cartoons on the way from Netflix (news).

Netflix and Legendary Television are now collaborating to produce two new anime series, one based on Skull Island and the second on Tomb Raider.

This adds to their work on their upcoming anime series, Pacific Rim: The Black.

Skull Island will be an animated adventure series about shipwrecked characters desperate to escape the most dangerous place on Earth — a mysterious island home to prehistoric monsters, including the greatest titan of them all, Kong. Powerhouse Animation is making it, while the Executive Producer for this effort will be Brian Duffield (of Underwater, The Babysitter-fame).

Tomb Raider
will pick up after the events of the video-game reboot trilogy, with the animated series following the globetrotting heroine’s latest adventures. Tasha Huo (The Witcher: Blood Origin, Red Sonja), will write and executive produce, working with Dmitri M. Johnson (Sonic the Hedgehog), Stephan Bugaj, Howard Bliss, and Jacob Robinson.
