This is why a realistic Batman is dull (video: article).

Rowan J Coleman just watched The Batman movie on the big screen, and although he enjoyed the characters, the directing, photography, and production design, he didn’t adore the noir detective-influenced movie.

His sentiments, however, have less to do with the film’s quality and more to do with the character’s “take.”

Because, once again, we have a “realistic” grounded, gritty Batman, and he hopes he is not alone in thinking, “That’s just kind of boring now.”

Matt Reeves directed the picture, and he co-wrote the script with Peter Craig. Along with Robert Pattinson, Zoe Kravitz, Paul Dano, Jeffrey Wright, John Turturro, Peter Sarsgaard, Andy Serkis, and Colin Farrell, it stars Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne / Batman. Batman, who has been combating crime in Gotham City for two years, uncovers corruption while chasing down the Riddler (Dano), a Dexter-style serial murderer who preys on the city’s corrupt wealthy scumbags.
