Station Eleven: post-plague apocalypse TV series (trailer).

A new science fiction miniseries based on Emily St. John Mandel’s 2014 book of the same name, Station Eleven, will air on HBO Max, December 16th, 2021.

After a fictitious swine flu epidemic known as “Georgia Flu” decimates the planet and kills almost everyone (98% death rate), the few survivors must eke out a new low tech life in the Great Lakes area of the USA.

In 2015, the book was recognized with the Arthur C. Clarke Award.

Hope they don’t make the HBO TV series too slow, as it was a very thoughtful, tight novel – lacking in the Mad Max antics most fans of this sub-genre get tickled by.
