Stargate rebooted? Slowly and surely, Amazon Prime are laying their plans (TV news).
Amazon is reportedly looking to revive the Stargate franchise, and has been soliciting pitches for new science fiction series.
Among those said to have expressed interest in Stargate are the creators of Amazon’s The Expanse, Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby. It’s rumored that producers of Amazon’s The Boys and J.J. Abrams’ production company Bad Robot may also be pitching ideas.
It’s been suggested that Amazon and MGM, which Amazon recently acquired, are considering three options for reviving the franchise: a feature film that sets up a new TV series, a series that keeps the existing canon, or a complete reboot of the concept.
