Star Trek: The Next Generation invades London.

Commuters in London were somewhat surprised this morning to find themselves sharing a tube carriage with Captain Jean-Luc Picard, Lieutenant Commander Data and Worf.

The Star Trek: The Next Generation looky-likey characters, were beamed in the city for SyFy, which this evening will bring UK fans the series in its new high-definition makeover. Digitally re-mastered to Native HD, the original episodes have been updated to produce high-definition images, with visual effects recreated from the source material.

Professional Patrick Stewart look-alike, Giles Aston, who tickled Londoners with his resemblance to Captain Jean-Luc Picard, said, “We’ve had an absolutely great reaction from Londoners today. Everyone loves The Next Generation, it’s so many Star Trek fans’ favorite series, and there’s a real buzz of excitement at the prospect of reliving the adventures in high-definition.”

Star Trek: The Next Generation in HD will be shown on Syfy every weeknight at 7pm from Monday 5th November 2012.
