SFcrowsnest film critic Frank Ochieng passes away (news).

Very sad news just in. One of our long-running film critics and SFcrowsnest contributors, Frank Ochieng, has passed away aged 54. He died April 12th, 2020, from what has been described as a pre-existing condition.

Frank has a degree in Law Enforcement, and another in Sociology from Suffolk University in the USA. As well as writing film reviews for SFcrowsnest, he also contributed to dozens of other online magazines as well as local U.S. newspapers. He was the film reviewer and media pundit for WBZ Radio in Boston.

He held full-time jobs in everything ranging from the Social Security office to customer service at the Microtel hotel group.

Frank was a great guy and a good-natured, gentle giant.

You can read his archive of fabulous reviews over at https://www.sfcrowsnest.info/author/frankochieng/

  • Thanks so much for posting this tribute. He was dearly loved by so many and his passing has shocked us all. We are heartbroken but seeing how others enjoyed his reviews and had so much respect for his talents and his writing touches my heart. Even though he has left us in person his writings go on due to sites such as yours. Again thanks so much for your support for our dear friend. He will live forever in his reviews/writings and in our hearts.
