Seven Sisters is an upcoming science fiction movie where actress Noomi Rapace gets to tread the path set by TV series Orphan Black – with a dark dystopian future (is there any other kind?) where global population is tightly controlled across the world by a UN-like body, and a scientist must clone his grandchildren in secret, then hide them away from the police.

The film official blurb reads:

2073 and the Earth is overpopulated close to ecological breaking point. The world government decided to introduce a one-child policy, applied by the Birth Control Board, under the aegis of Nicolette Cayman (Glenn Close). Terrence Settman (Willem Dafoe) decides to keep the existence of his 7 cloned granddaughters secret. Confined to their apartment, each day they will have to share a single unique identity outside, simulating the existence of one person: Karen Settman (Noomi Rapace). The secret remains intact for years, but then everything collapses on the day when granddaughter Monday mysteriously disappears.

Hitting the cinemas this August 2017.
