Sci-Fi Movie Trump Cards.
I would have thought that releasing this pack of cards, ‘Sci-Fi Movie Trump Cards’ would have been more appropriate at Yuletide than February but maybe the publishers thought it might be overlooked with whatever else you have going on. I should point out that the ‘Trump’ in the name is to do with card games not an American president endorsement.
You need a selection of people with a little knowledge of SF films, hope they haven’t read the cards before hand, shuffle the 32 cards face down and decide by coin or dice as to who goes first. Said player then picks one of the 6 specs from his or her first card. The player with the highest value for the same spec wins that hand of cards. Well, that’s what the instructions say. I’m still puzzling as to what do the film facts relate to do as so much of this is random chance rather than your film knowledge.
I do have a feeling that SF fans will come up with their games based on the card information, like identifying a film and go their own way.
The pictures on the cards are only illustrations but I suspect that is more to do to keep the price down than paying additional licence fees. Considering that they a couple inches size, that is probably a wise decision.
How much game play you get out of them depends on how well you get on with your friends.
