Morena Baccarin, a talented American actress known for her extensive work in the sci-fi genre, takes time out of her busy schedule to reminisce with our best Lex, Michael Rosenbaum, about her experiences on set and discuss her personal life. Having been part of numerous successful sci-fi TV shows and movies, such as Firefly, Deadpool, and Gotham, Baccarin has created a niche for herself in the entertainment industry.

Recently, the actress has been sharing her side of the story regarding Deadpool 3, while also recalling some memorable moments from the Deadpool franchise, including her time on set with Ryan Reynolds. She also mentioned a particularly traumatic underwater stunt that never made the final cut.

As a working mother of three, Baccarin has found a way to thrive amidst the chaos of balancing her career and family life. She credits her husband, actor Ben McKenzie, for being a supportive partner and for his recent efforts in raising awareness about the crypto bubble through his new book.

When asked about a potential return to the Firefly universe, Baccarin expressed her enthusiasm for the possibility. She also revealed her involvement in the origins of the hit TV show, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, where she appeared in the unaired pilot episode.

Despite her remarkable career achievements, which include a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for her role in Homeland, Baccarin admits to still struggling with impostor syndrome. This candid admission highlights the actress’s humility and relatability.

Born Morena Silva de Vaz Setta Baccarin in 1979, she made her acting debut in 2001 with the film Perfume. Since then, she has built an impressive resume, starring in notable projects such as Way Off Broadway, Justice League Unlimited, Stargate SG-1, and Stargate: The Ark of Truth.

Baccarin has also ventured into off-Broadway theatre, making her debut in Theresa Rebeck’s satirical play, Our House. In 2009, she starred in the V series as the leader of the alien Visitors, which ran for two seasons. Her performance in Showtime’s Homeland earned her an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in 2013.

Some of her recent work includes a leading role in the Fox series Gotham as Dr. Leslie Thompkins, as well as co-starring alongside Gerard Butler in the apocalyptic thriller Greenland. Baccarin’s career, spanning over two decades, demonstrates her versatility and dedication to her craft, making her a true powerhouse in the world of science fiction entertainment.
