Mercy: new Amazon scifi movie with Chris Pratt and Rebecca Ferguson (news).

Oh, what a tangled web Hollywood weaves when it decides to cast two of its shiniest stars in a thriller that sounds as juicy as an overripe peach, eh? I’ve just caught wind of a bit of juicy gossip from Deadline magazine, folks, and it’s about Rebecca Ferguson gearing up to share the silver screen with none other than Chris Pratt in Amazon MGM Studios’ next big thing, a science fiction movie called Mercy. Here’s the linky-loo for the nitty-gritty. Its plot sounds rather like a mash up of The Fugitive and Escape From New York.

So, right off the bat, following a stonker of an opening weekend with Dune: Part Two—I mean, who saw that coming, right?—our dear Rebecca is not resting on her laurels. She’s hopping straight into the fray alongside Pratt, the chap we’ve all chuckled with in Parks and Recreation and gawked at as he tamed those cheeky dinos in Jurassic World.

Now, brace yourselves for a sprinkle of sci-fi spice because Mercy isn’t your grandma’s cup of tea. Directed by Timur Bekmambetov, this thriller sets its sights on a future where folks apparently aren’t behaving too well, and capital crime is all the rage. Enter Detective Pratt (not his real name in the flick, but wouldn’t that be a hoot?), who finds himself in a pickle, accused of a heinous crime. The twist? He’s innocent… or so he says.

Let’s not forget Ferguson, fresh from strutting her stuff as Lady Jessica in the sandy epic that is Dune: Part Two. From warbling away in The Greatest Showman to kicking butt in Mission: Impossible, this lady’s got range, and I’m here for it. Meanwhile, Pratt’s been busy being, well, Pratt. The man’s a one-man entertainment factory, with hits left, right, and centre, making him one of Hollywood’s golden geese. So, putting him and Ferguson together? That’s a recipe for fireworks, my friends.

What can we expect from Mercy? Intrigue, action, a dash of mystery, and, knowing these two, a boatload of top-notch acting that’ll have us all on the edge of our seats. So grab your popcorn and keep your peepers peeled for this one. It’s going to be a bumpy, thrilling ride!
