Here’s Jettison, a short science fiction movie directed by JJ Pollack.
In her quest to leave Earth and visit the heavens, restless teenage farm girl Rebka enlists in the military. However, as a result of time dilation brought on by their fast space flight, she and her fellow warriors gradually lose connection with loved ones back on Earth.
Rebka has a kid with another soldier, but she needs to leave her behind so that she may serve out the rest of her military obligation. She learns via a distant relative that her daughter has been dead for a very long time by the time she is able to return to Earth.
Having concluded that she would be happier on the battlefield, Rebka returns to the conflict without a support system or any tangible reminders of her past life.
