Professor Lee Cronin, a well-known scientist, debates ‘is life on Earth unique or widespread across the universe’ with Brian Keating, who believes that life is widespread and even ubiquitous in the cosmos.

Through a set of rubrics dubbed “assembly theory,” Lee and his colleagues propose strategies to find and detect the existence of life, as well as account for its information content.
