Green Ghost And The Masters Of The Stone (superhero film review: trailer).
In superhero movie Green Ghost And The Masters Of The Stone, Charlie (actor Charlie Clark), a car salesman in a Texas border town, moonlights as a masked Lucha libre wrestler known as “Green Ghost.”
When mysterious intruders come in search of an unearthly emerald, Charlie realises he has superpowers. Charlie is taught that he is part of a secret warrior “triad of light” with his boyhood buddy Marco (Kuno Becker) and Marco’s sister Karina (Sophia Pernas), headed by La Nana, while he trains to fight from the eccentric Master Gin (action cinema great Danny Trejo).
They’ve been selected to safeguard mankind from Drake, the Mayan apocalypse’s manifestation. Drake desires the power to destroy humanity via a stargate created in a Mexican pyramid, and Charlie, who is tied to the power of the emerald, is the only one who can stop him. To rescue mankind and transform from Gringo to Green Ghost, Charlie must master both his physical and spiritual powers.
Hitting the cinema on the 29th April 2022.
This movie doesn’t have an original frame in the film can. In it’s own way, it’s political. There is one white character in the film – he is portrayed as a fat idiot complete with a butt crack scene and spandex. He is a failure at business (running a Nissan car dealership in Texas???). During the course of the film, he is required to “beef” up which he tries to do “Rocky 3” style complete with ROCKY 3 score. But the rip offs don’t end there, I counted a rip off from INDIANA JONES #1, THE MATRIX, INDIANA JONES 4, THE MUMMY. In one scene, the villians need to go kidnap NANA, but there is a dome protecting them. Do they all go? – No they send only 1 – the supergirl with the superhuman glasses because she can unlock the protective dome. My first thought, “she gets in, what happens if someone takes her glasses – nobody ever thought of that!!!!! Very frustrating. I bought popcorn and a coke and they almost came back up watching this crap. Given the choice, I would have rather rewatched COCO or ENCANTO.
