Gollancz Festival 2015 coming to London and Manchester.
Gollancz, the science-fiction and fantasy imprint of the Orion Publishing Group, will be running The Gollancz Festival 2015, at Waterstones Manchester Deansgate, 16th October 2015, and Waterstones London Piccadilly, 17th October 2015. The event will feature a number of fantasy, horror and science fiction authors including Ursula Le Guin, Stephen Hunt and Joe Abercrombie.
Gollancz Festival 2014 was an integrated multi-platform, digital and physical one-day book event featuring live participation from 50 genre writers. The tag #GollanczFest reached 9 million timelines on Twitter and the event videos have been watched 18,000 times on You Tube. Tickets for the 2014 event sold out in three weeks.
Gollancz Festival 2015 will be held across four days of events and digital programming.
Tickets for the Waterstones events in both Manchester and London are on sale at an early bird price of £8 (£6 for Waterstones loyalty card holders), with the ticket price increasing to £10 (£8 for card holders) on 3rd September 2015. Each attendee will receive a goody bag with some exclusives.
This year’s event will feature a partnership with the Prince Charles Cinema who will be screening two films of Gollancz titles, Minority Report and The Prestige, on the 15th and 18th October 2015. The Gollancz Festival events at the Prince Charles cinema will include a short talk by new authors before each screening. There will be a chance to meet the authors and get books singed the bar from 19.30pm (and again, after the films), with Minority Report starting at 20:15pm and The Prestige at 20:30pm.
A Gamer’s Bus will bring console and gaming pc’s to The Gollancz Festival venues in both London and Manchester, with the event being supported by SFX magazine and the website GamesRadar+.
