Fahrenheit 451: burning down the literary house.
Black Panther‘s actor Michael B. Jordan is not just setting the superhero genre aflame – he’s also the antihero (called Montag) of HBO’s TV series based on Ray Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451 novel – a dystopia where state thought control is practised by a heavily regulated Web 2.0 and of course, all paper books being burnt as subversive.
Actually, the web stuff didn’t appear in the original book – or the obvious extension to the future of the USA’s Trump-ian past – but hey, let’s make it more relevant to the present, right.
Michael Shannon of General Zod and The Shape of Water-fame stars as the book-burner-in-chief, aka Captain Beatty.
