Rowan J Coleman has sat down to consider the matter of the evil Daleks, pondering everything you wanted to know, but were afraid you’d be exterminated if you dared ask.
The Daleks were invented by writer Terry Nation and are, of course, the mutants riding robot killing machines in the British science fiction television programme Doctor Who.
By way of back-story, the planet Skaro saw a thousand-year war atomic between the Kaled and the Thal nations. Believing Kaled was becoming weak, the Kaled genius scientist Davros genetically modified the mutant victims of the war into squid-like nasties called Daleks, removing mercy and emotions while increasing aggression and survival instinct. He then stuck them into robotic shells and set them loose to exterminate all inferior non-Dalek creatures.
Well, that went well. But at least they proved a worthy foe to the Doctor.
