The highly anticipated shootie science fiction RPG computer game that is Cyberpunk 2077 has had its release date pushed back from April this year to September, which is a big blow for fans, but shows how these major gaming projects are becoming code mountains with thousands of staff and so much time-suck dedicated to pushing them out.
Development house CD Projekt Red told SFcrowsnest, “We are currently at a stage where the game is complete and playable, but there’s still work to be done. Night City is massive – full of stories, content, and places to visit, but due to the sheer scale and complexity of it all, we need more time to finish playtesting, finishing and polishing. We want Cyberpunk 2077 to be our crowning achievement for the generation and postponing launch will give us the precious months we need to make the game perfect.”
Still, if there’s one computer game event to play this year, Cyberpunk 2077 is it!
