Ahsoka: In a galaxy far, far away… or just on your Disney+ app (Star Wars TV series trailer).

SFcrowsnest readers, strap yourselves in for the thrilling and riveting ride that is the highly anticipated TV series Ahsoka. No, seriously, grab your popcorn and prepare to be enchanted by this Disney+ masterpiece, brought to you by Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni, the creative geniuses behind The Mandalorian.

Set in the same universe as The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett, and Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, Ahsoka promises to be the binge-worthy spin-off we’ve all been waiting for with bated breath. And if you weren’t waiting, well, too bad. You’re getting it anyway.

Marvel at the versatile acting skills of Rosario Dawson, reprising her role as Ahsoka Tano, because who doesn’t love seeing the same character across multiple Star Wars media? We know you can’t get enough of her, so the show’s creators decided to grace you with even more Ahsoka. What a time to be alive.

But wait! There’s more! Hayden Christensen is returning as Anakin Skywalker, Ahsoka’s former Jedi mentor who, as we all know, eventually became the Sith Lord Darth Vader. Because who doesn’t need more Anakin and Darth Vader in their lives?

In addition to Rosario and Hayden, we’ll be treated to a smorgasbord of new and returning characters. Prepare to be dazzled by Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren, Eman Esfandi as Ezra Bridger, and Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera Syndulla, just to name a few. Let’s just hope they can live up to the high standards set by their predecessors.

The creators, in their infinite wisdom, have promised a serialized story rather than separate adventures in each episode. Because we all know that episodic adventures would be too much fun, and who wants that?

Filming began in May 2022, and fans were thrilled when the first trailer was released in April 2023. One can only hope that the anticipation hasn’t led to unrealistic expectations that the show can’t possibly live up to. But, with Disney+ and Star Wars, anything is possible, right?

Ahsoka is set to be released in August 2023, giving fans just enough time to rewatch all their favorite Star Wars films and shows while they wait. So, sit back, relax, and prepare to be amazed by Ahsoka, the latest addition to the ever-growing Star Wars universe. It’s sure to be a blast.
